Architects and Heroes
One of Subi’s most renowned coffee spots, Architects and Heroes tops our list for artisan coffee in the heart of Rokeby Road. A small but action-packed brekky menu also includes gourmet toasts, bagels (take-away too), bircher bowls, eggs benny, and healthy smoothies. This one is a must for caffeine lovers.
Jus Burgers
There’s almost nothing better than a good burger, and we think Jus Burgers are up there with the best burgers in Subi. Serving up tasty gourmet burgers from morning until night with a focus on local produce (plus craft beers, shakes, wines, ciders and soft drinks), Jus Burgers is a no-brainer when you need a quick burger fix for lunch or dinner.
Edo
Fresh Japanese fare that’s quick, incredibly tasty and very affordable. Tuck into a bento box or donburi rice bowl at the unassuming Edo restaurant or take it away for later. Plus they serve sushi rolls, nigiri balls, tempura and tempting desserts. Edo is just 500m from your Subiaco accommodation when you stay at Dowler Apartments Subiaco.
Yelo
Yelo is a zero-waste café serving up fresh and tasty bagels, wraps, sandwiches, croissants, salads, tasty treats and of course some of Subi’s best coffee. Located quite literally around the corner from Dowler Apartments Subiaco on Rokeby just south of Hamersley Road, Yelo is a Subiaco stalwart you can’t go past.
Baguette Me Not
Try a banh mi from Baguette Me Not for fresh and healthy alternative to your regular ol’ sandwich. This little local has earned a spot among Perth’s top banh mi joints for good reason. They serve authentic crusty Vietnamese sandwiches, generous salad bowls, tacos, and outrageously good coffee (yes, including Vietnamese coffee).
The Jaffle Shack
Jaffles are a classic Aussie staple, and nobody does the pinched-edged sandwiches better than Subi’s own The Jaffle Shack – and the service is always 5-star quality. With 20+ jaffles across the menu, plus breakfast options, salads, bigger lunches, waffles, smoothies and coffee earning rave reviews, The Jaffle Shack is a great place for a quick and affordable bite from morning ‘til afternoon.
